Worldwide PC shipments were on the rise in Q3

Worldwide PC shipments have gone up in Q3. Some people were predicting that there will be a total downturn in the PC industry. The reason for such a prediction was due to the shortage of CPUs by Intel. The US-China Trade war also another reason for the forecast. But none of these had any impact on the global PC shipment.

1. What Was The Main Reason For The Growth Of The Worldwide PC Shipments?

The experts believe that it is the Windows 10 refresh cycle that has resulted in the growth of the PC shipments. There has been an increase in the global market. The percentage of improvement, however, depends on the local markets. For example, in Japan, the shipment grew as much as 55 percent. The reason for this growth was also the sales tax change that is pending. All the leading PC vendors, including HP, Lenovo as well as Dell, have seen a subsequent increase in the PC shipments. The cost of the components of the PC has gone down considerably. As a result, the profit margin of all of these companies has increased. Both the prices of SSDS and DRAMS have reduced.

On the other hand, the shortage of CPUs in Intel helped. It resulted in the lowering down of the SSD as well as the DRAM prices. So the makers of PC were able to make higher profits.

2. How Did The Leading Computer Shipment Companies Fair?

In the preliminary PC report, the Chromebook shipments were not there.  It is because Gartner did not consider this as a desktop at all. In the year 2012, the researchers realized that the consignment of Chromebook increased, and they had even beaten the shipment of desktops. That is, however, no longer the case now. In fact, in the year 2019, the Chromebook market of North America declined to a great extent. The third quarter of 2019 proved to be extremely beneficial.
